Lead Marine Carpenter

Position: Lead Carpenter
Locations: Cape Cod, MA
Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Schedule: Monday through Friday (40-45 hours per week)
Salary: Competitive Pay Based on Experience

Overview:  As a Lead Marine Carpenter, you will be responsible for overseeing and participating in the construction, repair, and maintenance of marine structures. Your expertise will ensure that all carpentry work meets industry, Beacon Marine and client standards. 

You will have the opportunity to use your skills and expertise while contributing to projects that shape the coastal landscape.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with & supervise the coordination of a team of marine carpenters in daily tasks & projects.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Fabricate and install structural elements and finishes using various carpentry techniques and materials suitable for marine environments.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations during all phases of construction and repair.
  • Conduct quality inspections to verify compliance with design and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to resolve technical issues and achieve project goals.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and materials inventory, ensuring availability for ongoing and future projects.
  • Train and mentor junior carpenters to enhance team skills and productivity.

Requirements:

  • Must clear a clean driving record check. 
  • Proven experience as a marine carpenter or similar role
  • At least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and safety standards.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents and blueprints.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and effectively guide a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

Certifications:

  • Valid MA Driver’s License
  • CDL-B with Manual and  Air Brakes Endorsement a plus
