Stone Revetment Reconstruction, Stair Access & Beach Nourishment

Osterville Stone Revetment & Groin Repairs

This project was a total beachfront restoration for a private club in Osterville that consisted of repairs to the existing stone revetment, groin repairs, beach nourishment, and a new access ramp. Large sections of the stone revetment were completely disassembled and reconstructed with suitable sized stone. Six existing stone groins were completely disassembled and reconstructed. The whole beach area was fortified with a large quantity of beach nourishment to fill between each stone groin and in front of the stone revetment. Lastly, a new timber access ramp was constructed to access the beach with heavy equipment for future maintenance. 

Stone Revetment – Martha’s Vineyard

Our construction crews worked hard on this first project on Martha’s Vineyard building a stone revetment in Tisbury. This was a great new challenge for Beacon Marine and as always, the crew delivered another top-quality project. A lot of behind-the-scenes work goes into these island projects. All of the materials and equipment had to be shipped from New Bedford to the Vineyard by tug and barge and the crew traveled to and from the island every day by ferry, planning their work schedules around the tides and weather.
