LOCATION: Hyannis Port
COMPLETION DATE: June 2024
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The winter wind and tidal surges caused significant damage to the iconic Hyannis Port Yacht Club pier. This was not the first time this structure sustained significant damage due to the elements. After several years of multiple large repairs, this storm made it mandatory to rebuild. This is a multi-phase project. This first phase required an increase in deck elevation to mitigate future storm damage.
The first phase of this project required a complete replacement of existing pilings and new decking of the boardwalk, pier, and platform. Two types of pile driving techniques utilized required heavy equipment on shore and a crane barge on the water.
Phase I was completed in time for summer season. The remaining phases will commence in early 2025.
